**UPDATE: The suspect was pronounced deceased upon arrival at an area hospital.

HARRIS COUNTY, TX - Harris County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to an Aggravated Robbery at the Woodforest Bank located on the 12500 block of FM 1960 in Harris County, Texas.

The armed suspect was located at a secondary location on the 13400 block of West Road. The High Risk Operations Unit and Hostage Negotiating Teams were activated and called to the scene. During the course of negotiations multiple attempts to use less than lethal weapons were unsuccessful. The suspect placed deputies in imminent danger by raising his weapon and pointing it toward them. A member of the Harris County Sheriff’s Office HROU unit fired, striking the suspect.

The suspect is currently being transported via LifeFlight in critical condition.

Additional information will be provided as it becomes available. The scene remains active, and under further investigation by the Harris County Sheriff’s Homicide Division, Office of Inspector General and the Harris County District Attorney’s Office.
