In the early morning hours of July 22, 2014, Burlington Police Department responded to a report of an unresponsive infant at a residence in the City of Burlington.
The Burlington Fire Department and Burlington Fire Department Rescue responded as well and transported the two week old infant to Fletcher Allen Health Care for treatment. The infant is currently in stable condition.
Because of the age of the infant and unknown circumstance surrounding this event, the incident was referred to the Chittenden Unit for Special Investigations and they have the lead in this investigation.

7/31/2014 UPDATE:
In the early morning hours of July 22, 2014, Burlington Police Department responded to a report of an unresponsive infant at a residence in the City of Burlington.
The Burlington Fire Department and Burlington Fire Department Rescue responded as well and transported the three week old infant to Fletcher Allen Health Care for treatment. Yesterday, without the assistance of life support, the child passed away.
The Chittenden Unit for Special Investigations is currently handling this investigation. An autopsy is expected to be completed by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner. No further information regarding this investigation will be released at this time.
