Infromation related to Brat Days parade

On Saturday, August 2nd, the Sheboygan Jaycees will be conducting the annual Bratwurst Day Festival parade.  The parade route has changed from previous years, and will use the same parade route used for the Independence Day parade.  The parade will begin staging at about 7:00 am, will begin at 9:00 am, and will conclude at about 10:30 am.

The parade will stage in the downtown area between 9th St. and 7th St. and north of Pennsylvania Ave.  to Wisconsin Ave.  The parade will begin at the intersection of 8th St. and Center Ave and proceed north to Michigan Ave., then east to the lakefront.  The parade route will continue south at the intersection of 3rd St., however the area south of the Michigan Ave. intersection will be used for parade disassembly from Michigan Ave to Ontario Ave.

During the parade, 8th St. and Michigan Ave will be blocked for all traffic.  Southbound traffic on Broughton Dr. will be blocked at Michigan Ave.  Northbound traffic on Broughton Dr. will be blocked at Ontario Ave.

The Gus Macker basketball tournament will also be taking place at Deland park facility.  Participants and spectators for this event are encouraged to use Pennsylvania Ave. to access Deland Park.

Parade spectators are reminded that placing chairs and blankets along the parade route is prohibited until 5:00 a.m. on Saturday morning.  In an effort to curb vandalism, please do not used paint cans or other heavy objects to secure any property in place.  In the event chairs and blankets are placed out on the morning of the parade, they need to be located on the parkway between the sidewalk and the curb, and cannot block the walkways in the downtown area.

There are multiple events taking place this weekend that will significantly impact parking and driving around the Kiwanis Park area and the Sheboygan Lakefront.  Please be prepared to use outlying parking areas and bike or walk to your event.
