Two Subjects Arrested in Recent Burglaries and Thefts

Derek J. Sturdevant 21 of Janesville Wi (no fixed address) was arrested for Burglary, Criminal Damage to Property and three counts of Theft for the Stop N Go Burglary that occurred on 07-28-2014. Sturdevant confessed to the burglary and to theft from motor vehicles from the near east side of Janesville.

Jeremy R. Green 21 of Janesville WI (no fixed address) was arrested for Receiving Stolen Property, 2 counts of Felony bail jumping, 1 count of Misdemeanor bail jumping and 1 count of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia following an investigation into a rash of burglaries and theft from motor vehicles.

These investigations were the result of numerous burglaries and theft from motor vehicles primarily on the north and east sides of Janesville during the past two months.

As always, residents are urged to remove valuables from their vehicles and keep their vehicles locked. Burglars are targeting open garage doors and open windows on homes to gain entry. Keep purses, wallets and other valuables out of plain sight.

Foreign currency was recovered as part of this investigation. If anyone had foreign currency stolen recently they are urged to call Detective Kyle Austin at 608-755-3143.
