Sanitary Sewer Improvements and Traffic Impacts Village of Huntley

Location:
The intersection of Algonquin Road and Church Street just east of Illinois Route 47.

Project Information:
As part of our sewer lining program, pre-lining televising revealed structural deterioration of the manhole located at the intersection of Church Street in Algonquin Road and collapsed sewer for up to 10 feet on the north and south side of the manhole. This manhole and collapsed sewer will be removed and replaced.

Impact to Traffic During Construction:
Algonquin Road will be reduced to one lane of traffic in both the eastbound and westbound direction through the intersection. The left turn lanes from Algonquin Road onto Church Street will be closed to traffic. Access to Algonquin Road from both northbound and southbound Church Street traffic will be by right turn only.

Approximate Project Schedule: (dates subject to change)

August 4: Install traffic control - reduce to one lane in each direction on Algonquin Road and close the left turn lanes at Church Street.

August 4 – August 5: Remove and replace manhole and associated sanitary sewer. Backfill trench.

August 6 – August 8: Pavement restoration

August 8: Remove traffic control and reopen roadway to through traffic.
