Special Event Notification and Road Closures - Fremont Festival of the Arts

Road Closures Begin Tomorrow, Friday August 1 at 4:00 p.m. for the Fremont Festival of the Arts

A special event permit has been issued to the Fremont Chamber of Commerce for the Fremont Festival of the Arts.  The event will take place Saturday and Sunday, August 2-3, 2014. As a result, several roads in the City’s Downtown District will be closed and impacted by the event.

Beginning at 4:00 p.m. Friday, August 1, the following roads will close:

  • Paseo Padre Pkwy. (between Mowry Ave. and Walnut Ave.)
  • Capitol Ave.
  • Hastings St. (between Capitol Ave. and Mowry Ave.)
  • Liberty St. (between Walnut Ave. and Capitol Ave.)
  • Beacon Ave.(between State St. and Liberty St.)

The following roads will remain open to traffic:

  • Walnut Ave.
  • State St.
  • Mowry Ave.

All roads will reopen Sunday, August 3rd by midnight. We apologize for the inconvenience and ask that all drivers use caution while driving in this area over the weekend.

If you are planning to attend, please be sure to visit our booth, which will be staffed by members of FPD's Community Engagement Unit and Recruitment Team.  The booth will located at the corner of Paseo Padre Pkwy and Capitol Avenue. Staff will be on hand to answer questions and talk about current employment opportunities, crime prevention resources and programs such as National Night Out and Neighborhood Crime Watch.

We would like to remind you that pets (all shapes and sizes) are not allowed at the event.  During this festival and any other Fremont event, we ask that community members always be aware of your surroundings and report suspicious activity by calling our non-emergency number at 790-6800 and selecting option 3 or dialing 9-1-1, if you believe you are witnessing a crime in progress.
