Local deputies aiding in search for escaped inmates; driving gray 4-door Dodge truck with camper cover, tinted windows, running boards 
McDowell County sheriff’s deputies are currently aiding in a search for two McDowell inmates that escaped custody around 4 p.m. from Avery County deputies.
Authorities are looking for 20-year-old Calvin Lee Metcalf, of Bakersville, and 25-year-old Phillip Nicholas Metcalf, of Spruce Pine.
They were being held in McDowell on Mitchell County charges. They were taken by Avery County deputies earlier today to Avery as part of an investigation.
They are driving a gray four-door Dodge truck with a camper cover, tinted windows and black running boards.
They are considered armed and dangerous.
Anyone with information regarding the suspects is asked to call 911 immediately.
