SATURATION PATROL NETS FOUR DRUNK DRIVERS
BARTHOLOMEW COUNTY: A Saturation Patrol conducted by Columbus Police officers and Indiana State Police troopers Friday night in Columbus netted seven criminal arrests, including removing four drunk drivers from our roadways. The patrol, conducted from 10 pm-4 am in Columbus resulted in 45 Traffic contacts, 15 Traffic tickets and 30 warnings. One person was cited for a Child Restraint violation. Two people were arrested for Illegal Consumption of alcohol while another person was incarcerated at the Bartholomew County Jail for Possession of a Controlled Substance. The officers completed three police services during this patrol as well. "This patrol was successful simply because we were able to take four drunk drivers off of the road", stated Indiana State Police trooper Matthew Simmons. More patrols will be conducted in the future.
