On 7-27-14, at approximately 5:20PM, members of the Burlington Police Department and Burlington Fire & Rescue responded to the intersection of North St. and North Ave. for a report of a motor vehicle crash involving a Subaru Forester and a motorcycle.
Upon arrival officers found the operator of the motorcycle, identified as John Poro of Richmond, VT, injured and on the ground. The operator of the Subaru Forester was uninjured and identified as Nathaniel Cummings of Jeffersonville, VT. Poro was transported to Fletcher Allen Health Care by Burlington Fire and Rescue for his injuries.
Investigation revealed that Poro was stopped for a red light when his motorcycle was struck from behind by Cummings vehicle.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation however drugs and alcohol are suspected to be a factor.
