Man Electrocuted on Diamond Island

Cass County Sheriff Joseph M. Underwood JR. reports that his Deputies investigated a fatal electrocution that occurred on 7/27/2014 at approx. 1505 hrs on Diamond Island on Diamond Lake in Penn Township. Michael Koranda 43yrs of Chicago IL. was found by family members at a family residence that he was working on. The investigation appears that Koranda was doing some electrical work on the residence and was electrocuted. Deputies and EMS arrived on scene and Koranda was pronounced dead at the scene. Cass County Sheriff's Deputies were assisted on scene by Cass County Marine Division, Life Care ambulance and Penn township Fire Dept first responders.
