Inmate escapes from Grant County Jail – located and apprehended short time later.
EPHRATA, Wash. (27JUL2014) - Grant County Sheriff’s Office reports that an inmate escaped from the Grant County jail this morning but was then apprehended in Moses Lake a short time later.
At approximately 10:00am today, Jaime D. Hampshire, age 29, escaped from the Grant County Jail as another subject was being released. Hampshire was being held on felony theft charges.
At approximately 12:30pm today, Hampshire was located and apprehended at a residence on Road 4 NE in Moses Lake.
An investigation is underway as to how he escaped.
“This was a great coordinated effort between Ephrata Police Department and Grant County Sheriff’s Office resulting in a quick apprehension of the suspect,” said Sheriff Tom Jones.
