Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department (LASD) Homicide detectives are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the shooting death of a male adult that occurred on Thursday, July 24, 2014, at 11:22 p.m.

Homicide detectives have learned that deputies were patrolling in the area of Compton Boulevard and Dwight Avenue, when they heard multiple gunshots coming from the residential neighborhood just west of them. Deputies checked the area for the source of the gunshots and discovered a male Hispanic adult, 39 years old, lying in the street in the 1300 block of West 151st Street, Compton.

The victim was suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The murder weapon and the suspect(s) are still outstanding.
