This morning at approximately 7:35 a.m. Shelburne Police, Fire & Rescue responded to a residence near the intersection of Shelburne Road and Hunters Way for a report of an unresponsive two year old child. The child was transported to Fletcher Allen Health Care, and was later pronounced dead.
As with all infant or child death cases, the Chittenden Unit for Special Investigations has assumed the lead in this investigation. At this time, the cause and manner of death is still pending the result of an autopsy.
As of yet the child’s name is not being released, as all family members have yet to be notified.
As additional information becomes available it will be presented in future releases.

UPDATE:
On July 23, 2014, an autopsy was performed by the Chittenden County Medical Examiner’s Office on two (2) year old Aiden Haskins of Shelburne. Detectives from the Chittenden Unit for Special Investigations are awaiting those results.
It was determined that Aiden Haskins was being cared for by his mother’s boyfriend, Josh Blow, age 26. This investigation is continuing and there will be updated releases when information becomes available.

July 24, 2014 UPDATE:
On July 22, 2014 at approximately 0735 hours Shelburne Police and Shelburne Fire & Rescue responded to a residence near the intersection of Shelburne Road and Hunters Way for a report of an unresponsive two year old child. The child was transported to Fletcher Allen Health Care, and was later pronounced dead.
The Chittenden Unit for Special Investigations assumed the lead in this investigation which is standard protocol for incidents of this nature.
During the evening hours of July 24, 2014 Detectives from the Chittenden Unit for Special Investigations arrested Joshua Blow, 26 YOA, of Shelburne, Vermont for First Degree Murder as a result of the investigation into the death of Aiden Haskins, 2 YOA, of Shelburne, Vermont. Blow was subsequently lodged at the Chittenden County Correctional Facility as he was ordered held without bail. Blow will be arraigned on July 25th, 2014 in the Vermont Superior Court, Criminal Division on the charge of Murder in the Second Degree.
