UPDATE
A man is now under arrest in connection with a shooting that wounded a man in San Marcos. Jose Velasquez (DOB: 1/27/1989) was also arrested on charges of violating the conditions of his parole for possessing a loaded gun. He was arrested at the Grossmont Center in La Mesa at 1:00 p.m.

Deputies from the San Marcos Sheriff's Station were called to the Windsor Manor apartment complex at 250 Knoll Road about a man being shot just before 9:00 a.m. When deputies arrived on scene, they found a man with a gunshot wound in the torso area. The victim was taken to a hospital. He is expected to survive his injury.

Some of the people who live at the apartment complex were briefly evacuated as deputies searched for the shooting suspect. Knoll Road at Los Vallecitos Boulevard remains closed. We appreciate the public's cooperation during this incident.

Deputies are looking for a shooting suspect around the Windsor Manor Apartment Complex at 250 Knoll Road.
A man was taken to a hospital with a gunshot wound.

Knoll Road from Mission Road to Los Vallecitos Boulevard is closed.
Deputies from the Special Enforcement Detail (SED/SWAT) are on scene. Sheriff's ASTREA is also overhead.

Please avoid the area if you can.
