The Newport Beach Police Department is advising residents and visitors to avoid the area of the Newport Pier for the next four hours, due to a major natural gas line rupture, in the area of 20th Street and the Beach.
Furthermore, natural gas service is expected to be interrupted for the next 18 hours to all residents and businesses in the Newport Beach peninsula area, from 23rd Street all the way down to the Wedge and Peninsula Point.
If you have any specific questions regarding your natural gas service, please contact the Southern California Gas Company at (800) 427-2200. Do NOT call 911 unless you have a legitimate life and death emergency.
