ACCUSED: Matthew McCudden age 23 Jackson, NJ

NARRATIVE:
On 7/23/14, officers were dispatched to the area of Lewis Street in reference to a suspicious person. Upon arrival to the area, officers identified the suspicious person as Matthew McCudden and found him in possession of drug paraphernalia. He was also in possession of a brightly colored backpack.

Officer DeLanoy observed that the backpack appeared to be similar to one being worn by a male subject who was unidentified at the time and involved in a strong arm robbery on 7/19/14 at the CVS Pharmacy. A review of the store’s CCTV video surveillance system identified the male subject as Mr. McCudden. The video shows McCudden forcibly pushing a store employee and fleeing and after the employee attempted to stop him for shoplifting a drink. The store employee was not injured during the ordeal.

Mr. McCudden was charged with robbery for the July 19th incident and for possession of drug paraphernalia that was located during his arrest. Bail was set at $7500.00 no 10% by Judge Timothy McGouhran. Mr. McCudden was transported to the Monmouth County Correctional Institution to await a future court hearing.
