Power Outage "Update" within the City of Newark. 
Thank you all for your patience. The Newark Police Department would like to keep our community up to date with the progress of the power outage. At approximately 12:15 pm, a Ford truck driven by a 48-year-old Newark resident collided with a power pole.
As a result most major intersections within the city lost power. In addition, there were 3800 homes affected by the outage. PG&E has just informed us, power has been restored to all intersections and there are only 38 homes without power. As a safe estimate, PG&E stated power should be restored to the remaining 38 homes by midnight.
Newark Police personnel will provide extra patrol to the neighborhood still affected by the outage until power is restored.
