At approximately 11:30 p.m., Officer’s Ramsey and Soper responded to The Counter Restaurant located at Paseo Padre and Walnut Ave for a petty theft.  A male suspect had stolen a bag of hamburger buns from the closed business and was confronted by the manager.  After being confronted, he fled on foot.  Officer Ramsey located the suspect walking on the west side of Civic Center Drive with one hamburger bun in his right hand and one hamburger bun in his left hand.   The male refused all commands and told officers he was a federal agent.  As officers attempted to detain him, he squared off.  Additional police personnel arrived on scene and the male continued to resist.  The adult male was eventually taken into custody and treated at WTH for his injuries.  The male was later identified as a 26 year old adult male transient.   He was transported to Santa Rita Jail where he was booked for burglary, obstructing an officer and resisting with violence and use of force.  No officers were injured during this incident.  Case documented by Officer Ramsey.
