Castaic and Val Verde, Zone 2, Public Safety and Crime Prevention Information. Snapshot 07/14/2014-07/20/2014.

The following crimes were reported in Zone 2, Castaic/Val Verde. 

A residential burglary occurred from the 30000 block of Arlington Road.  A local resident was seen kicking in the back door and taking items from inside the house.  The suspect was later positively identified and arrested by responding deputies. 

A house on the 28000 block of Morningside Drive was burglarized.  The owner received an alarm warning on his phone while away from home.  He drove to the house and saw the front door had been pried open.  The owner said the house was empty for renovations and nothing was taken. 

A commercial burglary occurred from the 32000 block of Castaic Lake Road.  A red and white Fuji Nevada mountain bike, Go-pro video camera and a bag of miscellaneous coins were stolen.

A petty theft was reported from the Days Inn off of Castaic Road.  Two quilted blankets were taken from a room that was paid for in cash.   

Please remember to close and lock your doors, and never leave valuables in plain view in your vehicle.  Minimize your risk and avoid being the victim of a crime of opportunity.  If you see any suspicious activity, call the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station at (661) 255-1121 or
