Indiana State Police and Bicknell Police Investigate Overnight Shooting, Two Men Dead
UPDATED INFORMATION
The victim and suspect have been identified:
• Victim: Paul Ryan Russell, 33, of Bruceville ( No physical address available)
• Suspect: Todd Godare, 48, 403 North Main Street, Apartment 5, Bicknell, IN
Further investigation revealed that at approximately 2:00 a.m., Russell was standing outside near Durbin and Cherry Streets in Bicknell when he noticed Godare walking toward him. Russell ran into a nearby residence and retrieved a baseball bat before going back outside. An argument ensued and Godare allegedly shot and killed Russell with a .22 caliber revolver. Godare left the scene driving his 1999 Chevrolet S-10 pickup truck. Approximately two-hours later, Vincennes City Police located and attempted to stop his vehicle. Godare eventually stopped on SR 61 near Kimmell Road and shot himself. Investigating officers believe Godare used the same weapon to take his own life.
According to Knox County Coroner Gordon Becher, both autopsies are scheduled for tomorrow morning.
