(Noble County, IN)-Sylvester R. Slone, the 43 year old man with numerous felony charges against him in Kentucky, and that authorities in Noble County had reached out to the public for help in locating is now in their custody after being arrested by the Indiana State Police and Kendallville Police Departments.
According to Trooper Justin Snyder, this evening at approximately 7:00 p.m. he had received information from the Noble County Sheriff Department that Slone was at an address on Mapes Road, just outside of Kendallville. While following up on that information, he was given updated information that Slone was at a residence in the 1900 block of Bodenhafer Drive, on the east side of Kendallville.
As he and Trooper Lesley Fox arrived, they saw that a man fitting Slone’s description was in the backyard being confronted by officers from the Kendallville Police Department. Slone, who was ordered to the ground by Snyder, complied and was taken into custody without incident. He was transported to, and is currently incarcerated in the Noble County Jail on the following charges from the State of Kentucky:
• Six Counts of Rape
• Six Counts of Sexual Abuse-First Degree
• Ten Counts of Sodomy-First Degree
The public is credited with placing numerous phone calls to the Noble County Sheriff Department providing valuable information which led to Slone’s arrest. Agencies assisting in this arrest were the Indiana Governor’s Office, the Office of the Indiana Attorney General, the Kentucky Governor’s Office, the Noble County Sheriff Department, and the Kendallville Police Department.
