SUNNYVALE, Calif. – On July 22, 2014, at approximately 2:54pm, Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety Police and Fire units responded to a report of an automobile vs. pedestrian collision at the intersection El Camino Real and Sunnyvale-Saratoga Road. Upon their arrival, they located a 68 year old female who had been crossing El Camino Real when she was struck by a vehicle which was turning onto eastbound El Camino Real from Sunnyvale Avenue. The female sustained significant head injuries as a result of the collision and was transported by ambulance to Valley Medical Center for treatment and further evaluation.. The collision remains under investigation and officers will be attempting to determine if the pedestrian was in the crosswalk when she was struck by the vehicle.
