OSBI Agents Graduate from Advanced Investigative Academy

OSBI has graduated its 14th advanced investigative academy. Thirty-four agents hired since 2007 attended the six-week long training session. Six outside law enforcement officers were special guests at this academy. Those officers came from the following departments: Warr Acres, Stroud, and Duncan Police Departments; Tulsa County, Muskogee County, and Sequoyah County Sheriff’s Offices.

The agents and guests received more than 200 hours of advanced investigative training in areas such as blood stain pattern analysis, crime scene investigation, interview and interrogation, arson and explosives, child abuse, and forensic archaeology. All students are CLEET certified, while several have advanced law enforcement certifications. At the end of today's graduation ceremony, OSBI Director Stan Florence had the class repeat the oath of office.

The Bureau scheduled an academy in 2010, but budget cuts forced OSBI to cancel the classes.
