GTPD Community Bulletin: Gloucester Township Police Officers Attend Funerals For Fallen New Jersey Police Officers, July 18 & 22, 2014
On July 18, 2014, Gloucester Township Police Department Officers traveled to Jersey City, New Jersey to attend Funeral Service for Jersey City PD Officer Santiago. Officer Santiago was killed in the line of duty when a gunman fatally shot him in a Walgreens parking lot early Sunday July 13, 2014. GTPD Officers also stopped at Liberty State Park to visit the Empty Sky 9/11 Memorial.
On July 22, 2014, Gloucester Township Police Department Officers traveled to Waldwick, New Jersey to attend Funeral Service for Waldwick Police Department Officer Christopher Goodell. Officer Goodell was killed while using a radar gun on the shoulder of the southbound side of Route 17 near Bergen Avenue last Thursday when a tractor-trailer hit his unmarked police car.
