RE: Alcohol Countermeasures Team
As part of ongoing efforts to ensure the safety of the citizens of Jackson, the Jackson Police Department’s Alcohol Countermeasures Team will be performing Sobriety Checkpoints and increased DUI enforcement throughout the city every weekend this month.
There will be a Sobriety Checkpoint on Friday, 25 July 2014, from 2330 until 0115 on Carriage House Drive near Bumpus Harley Davidson, and one Saturday, 26 July 2014 from 0145 until 0345 on South Highland Avenue @ State Highway 18.
During these Sobriety Checkpoints and increased DUI enforcement,
officers will concentrate their efforts on removing impaired drivers from
the roadways before they can cause any unnecessary injuries or deaths. Motorists are reminded that as non-compliance with the safety belt and child restraint laws place people in danger, as part of Operation SAFE (Seatbelts Are For Everyone) these laws will be vigorously enforced as well.
This project funded solely by the Tennessee Governor's Highway Safety Office.
