On July 21, 2014, at about 11:06 PM, Chula Vista Police Officers responded to the 600 block of H Street on reports of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle. The initial investigation showed the pedestrian may have illegally crossed H Street when he was struck by a vehicle. The pedestrian received serious injuries from the collision and was unresponsive at the scene. He was later transported to the UCSD Trauma Center for treatment. The Chula Vista Police Department Traffic Unit responded to conduct the investigation. The pedestrian was described as an African American male approximately 50 years of age and may be known to frequent the area of the accident. The investigation of the collision and attempts to identify the man will continue today. Anyone with information on the possible identity of the man struck by the vehicle is urged to call the Chula Vista Police Department.
