Knox – Last night at approximately 10:25 p.m., Trooper William Campbell responded to a moped crash in the 1900 block of College Avenue that seriously injured the rider.
Preliminary investigation revealed Arthur Johnson, 18, of Vincennes, was riding his 2012 Toa Toa moped southbound on College Avenue when for unknown reasons lost control. When the moped fell onto its side, Johnson struck his head and lost consciousness. He was not wearing a helmet. Johnson was not breathing and didn’t have a pulse. Trooper Campbell initiated CPR and a short time later Johnson began breathing again. Knox County EMS arrived and continued to care for Johnson. He was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes, but was later flown to St. Mary’s Hospital in Evansville where he is currently being treated for his injuries.
