Suspicious Death Investigation

On Sunday, 7-20-14, at approximately 2:38 AM, the Sausalito Police Department received a report of shots fired. Further investigation led the officers to a residence in the 100 block of San Carlos Avenue. Officers responded to the residence, made entry to check the welfare of people inside and ultimately found two deceased persons. The Sausalito Police Department was assisted by detectives from both Central Marin Police Authority and Marin County Sheriff’s Office.
The Marin County Sheriff-Coroner has authorized the names of the deceased persons to be released. They have been identified as Robyn Chan, a 51 year old male out of Sausalito and Mara Truly, a 42 year old female out of Sacramento. The causes of death have yet to be determined. Autopsies have been scheduled for later this week.
The Sausalito Police Department wants to reassure the public that there is no outstanding public safety risk due to this incident. This case is an isolated incident and is not related to the recent burglaries. If anyone has any information regarding this incident please call the Sausalito Police Department at 415-289-4170.
