On July 20, 2014, at approximately 1:20 a.m., an adult female was walking alone in the area of 2900 Lincoln Avenue. She was attacked from behind by an unidentified suspect and knocked to the ground where she lost consciousness. The victim regained consciousness and was able to walk to her residence and call police. At this time, it does not appear the victim was sexually assaulted or robbed.
The San Diego Police Department Sex Crimes Unit is investigating to determine if this case is related to the North Park incidents from the previous month. The last attack took place on June 24, 2014 in which an adult female was walking alone and was attacked from behind. That incident occurred one block away from today’s incident.
The San Diego Police Department is reminding people to be aware of their surroundings and immediately report suspicious activity by calling (619) 531-2000 or 911.
