2ND Annual National Night Out
“AMERICA’S NIGHT OUT AGAINST CRIME”
On Tuesday, August 5th, 2014, the City of Downey and the Downey Police Department will host the City's 2nd Annual National Night Out celebration from 5:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Civic Center Area of Downey City Hall located at 11111 Brookshire Ave.
National Night out is a unique community event, celebrated across the United States the first Tuesday in August every year. It is designed to heighten crime prevention, awareness, generate neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships.
Downey's National Night Out event will promote community awareness by educating the community about crime prevention and community resources. It also features free food, drinks, activities for children, community information booths and family fun.
