National Night out is a nationwide effort to connect area residents and law enforcement agencies in an effort unite against crime. This year Tuesday, August 5, is the National Night Out and the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office will be working with local residents to heighten crime prevention awareness and send a message to criminals letting them know that their activities will not be tolerated.

As part of National Night Out, the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office will be hosting an open house on August 5 from 6:30-8:30PM. During the open house, area residents will have a unique opportunity to go behind the scenes and get a glimpse that most have never seen. The adult Jail booking area as well as the booking area of the Juvenile Services Center will be open for public tours during the evening. Representatives from special teams such as the K9 Unit, Tactical Tracking Team, Crash Team, Emergency Response Team, Honor Guard, Bike Team, Animal Control, and others will be on hand to demonstrate their equipment and answer questions. Opportunities to learn about firearms safety, sheriff sales, and the sex offender registry will also be available.

The Sheriff’s Office is located at 18100 Cumberland Road in Noblesville, across from Noblesville High School. All Hamilton County residents are invited and encouraged to attend this chance for citizens to go behind the walls and discover a few of the many tasks with which the Sheriff’s Office is tasked. The event is free and no reservations are required.
