Deputies charge Marion woman, a convicted felon, with possessing a handgun 
Deputy Burlin Ballew of the McDowell County Sheriff’s Office charged Sonya Renee Parker, 39, of Owl Hollow Road in Marion, with felony possession of a firearm by a felon.
On Monday, July 14, McDowell County sheriff’s deputy responded to a dispute on Gable Drive off Owl Hollow Road.
Once on the scene, they discovered that Parker, a convicted felon, was allegedly in possession of a handgun.
Deputy seized the weapon.
