APD arrest 18 year old on Burglary charges.
On Wednesday July 16th at 8:08am, APD officers were sent to the 6500 block of Sierra Ct., where a homeowner had caught someone in his garage going through his truck. Upon arrival officers spoke with the homeowner who stated that he had just been in the garage loading up his vehicle, and returned inside the house to gather some more items. As he went back out to the garage the homeowner caught an 18 year old male going through his vehicle. The suspect claimed he just scared someone else off and was making sure nothing was missing from the vehicle. The suspect got out of the vehicle and proceeded to walk very quickly away from the residence. The homeowner caught up to the suspect as he got into his vehicle, but before he was able to drive away the homeowner reached in and removed the keys from the vehicle and called the police. The male suspect was secured in a patrol car while officers completed their investigation. The homeowner had video surveillance on his garage and showed officers the footage that showed the one suspect who was in custody entering the garage. Officers located other items in the suspect’s vehicle that were believed to have been stolen in other burglaries or auto burglaries. Officers did locate one other victim and their property was returned to them. Other possible stolen items (electronic devices & numerous hand and power tools) were taken from the suspect’s vehicle and booked as evidence until owners could be located. Colton Steen Nabors W/M 18 was arrested on one charge of Burglary of a Habitation and one count of Burglary of a Motor Vehicle. Nabors was also charged with a Class C Misdemeanor charge of Minor in Consumption of Alcohol. Nabors was booked into the Randall County Jail. If the other seized property can be identified as being stolen, additional charges are possible.
