Man Arrested for Assaulting Mother, Girlfriend Stabbed Man in Self-Defense

A Jackson man was arrested after he assaulted his mother and then was stabbed in the leg by his girlfriend in self-defense.

Billy Mullin, Jr., 18, was arraigned at 8 a.m. today in Jackson City Court on charges of simple domestic assault and false imprisonment of his mother. Mullin's bond was set at $15,000, and his next scheduled court date is 1:30 p.m. on Aug. 11 in City Court.

Around 10:50 p.m. Monday, officers were called to McMillan Towers at 212 S. Fairground Street. The investigation showed that Mullin was arguing with his girlfriend in his mother's apartment. Mullin's mother, who was also there, tried to leave. Mullin then pushed his mother from the door and wouldn't allow her to leave.

During the altercation, Mullin grabbed his girlfriend and she picked up a knife and stabbed him in the leg in self-defense. The mother was then able to leave the apartment and call police.

An ambulance was called and treated Mullin's injury at the scene. Mullin was then arrested and transported to the Madison County Jail.

Mullin's 17-year-old girlfriend was not charged in the incident
