Bank Robbery - Unincorporated La Mesa

The Rancho San Diego Sheriff's Station wants your help in finding and identifying a man wanted in connection with a bank robbery in unincorporated La Mesa.

It happened just after 3:30 p.m. on Monday, July 14th at the California Bank and Trust located in the 3700 block of Avocado Boulevard. Witnesses say the suspect walked into the bank and gave the teller a demand note. The note mentioned that the suspect was armed with a gun.

The suspect was given an unknown amount of money before he took off. No weapon was ever spotted. No one was hurt during the bank robbery.

Take a good look at the surveillance photo attached to this bulletin. The suspect is described as a white man, about 40 years old, standing 5'9" and weighing 180 pounds. He was wearing a blue baseball cap with yellow lightening bolts on the side with yellow trim, a dark blue t-shirt with the words "On Optimum" written on the front and white ear plug headphones.

If you recognize the suspect or know where he is, call the Crime Stoppers anonymous tip line at (888) 580-8477. Crime Stoppers is offering up to a $1,000 reward to anyone with information that leads to an arrest in this case.
