Driver Succumbs After Earlier One Vehicle Crash

Putnam County— The driver of the one-vehicle crash on Interstate 70 near the 47 mile marker, 74-year-old Francis Paquette of East Taunton, Massachusetts has succumbed to health issues at the Putnam County Hospital.

At 3:54 this afternoon, Paquette’s 1997 Ford van was westbound on I-70 near the 47mm and suddenly veered off the north side of I-70. The vehicle entered a ditch area and struck several large bushes and a few trees. Paquette reportedly had no vital signs at the scene and was revived by Putnam County Operation Life paramedics. Hospital personnel believe Paquette may have had a medical emergency prior to the crash.

Family has been notified.

The crash was investigated by ISP Trooper Derek Baker.

Under the Law, criminal charges are merely accusations and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
