Sheriff Joseph Underwood Jr. reports that deputies of the Cass County Sheriff's Office responded to a two car personal injury traffic crash on 7-14-14 at 4:09pm. The crash occurred just east of the intersection of US 12 Hwy and Old 205 in Cass Cass County Sheriff's Office responded to a two car personal injury traffic crash on 7-14-14 at 4:09pm. The crash occurred just east of the County's Mason Township.An East bound vehicle, a pick-up driven by Edwin Powless Jr. (73 yrs of Otsego, MI) and a west bound vehicle, a car driven by Linda Chanthavongsavath (25 yrs of Vandalia, MI) collided at that location. Both drivers were injured, along with Chanthavongsavath's passenger, Adrianna Chanthavongsavath ( 4 yrs). Powless and Adrianna Chanthavongsavath were transported by ambulance to South Bend Memorial Hospital. Linda Chanthavongsavath was airlifted to Bronson Hospital in Kalamazoo, MI. Linda Chanthavongsavath was extricated from the vehicle. It doesn't appear that alcohol was a factor in the crash. Both drivers were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash.

The Cass County Sheriff's Office was assisted on scene by Porter Area Ambulance and Fire, Edwardsburg Fire and Ambulance and the Ontwa Township Police Department. The crash is still under investigation.
