On Friday, July 11, 2014 at 10:00 PM, CPD officers arrested a 19 year old male subject at a residence in the 900 block of Regency Avenue for committing a battery causing serious bodily injury. The battery was initially reported to the PD on June 29, 2014 by the victim who was at the emergency room of Hanford Adventist Hospital due to injuries to his face. The victim sustained several fractures to his jaw and nose and had to be transported to Fresno University Medical Center for further medical treatment. During the investigation, officers identified the suspect as being Marty Nevarez (age 19) from Corcoran, CA. Nevarez reportedly confronted the victim in the parking lot of an apartment complex located in the 2500 block of Hanna Avenue after getting angry at the victim for speaking with his ex-girlfriend. Nevarez followed the victim as he was attempting to get
inside his vehicle to leave and then struck the vicitm with his fist causing the injuries to his face. Nevarez was later transported
and booked into the Kings County Jail with a total bail amount of $50,000.00.
