LOCATIONS: Malibu Creek State Park
VICTIM: female adult
UNIT: Los Angeles County Sheriff's Malibu Search and Rescue (SAR)
NARRATIVE:
Los Angeles County Sheriff's Malibu Search and Rescue (SAR) team responded to Malibu Creek State Park regarding an injured 28-year-old female from Camarillo. She was climbing in a remote area of the "Gorge" near the "Rock Pool" and fell on a cliff side, injuring her ankle.
Malibu SAR, assisted by Los Angeles County Fire and California State Park Rangers, deployed the team boat across the Rock Pool where rescuers then climbed the opposing cliff face and descended by rope to the injured woman, reaching her just before 1 p.m. She was then lowered to the creek bed by rescuers, secured in a rescue basket, carried to the awaiting boat and was rowed across the water to awaiting rescuers. She was carried out to an awaiting ambulance for transport to her personal vehicle. The victim declined to be transported to the hospital and opted to go herself.
There is no additional information available at this time.
