2 injured in crash

Cass County Sheriff Joseph M. Underwood Jr. Reports that on 7-12-14 at about 1131 hours his office was called to investigate a crash involving 2 motorcycles on Fir Rd. south of Redfield St in Milton Township. 54 year old Niles resident, Timothy Pedzinski, was north bound on Fir rd when he began to experience mechanical problems. Seeing a driveway ahead he attempted to exit the pack of motorcycles he was riding with. He did not know that 41 year old Elkhart resident, Christopher Adams, according to witnesses was attempting to get to the front of the motorcycles in attempt to reach the intersection and stop traffic so their group could continue together. Mr. Adams was transport by ambulance to St. Joseph Medical Center in Mishawaka and Mr. Pedsinski was treated by the ambulance on scene but elected to be taken to Med Point in Mishawaka by a personal vehicle. It is not believed that alcohol is a factor at this time. It is also believed that helmets were worn by both drivers. This case remains under investigation.
