Nine Gibson County Teens attend Indiana Sheriff's Association's Youth Leadership Camp. 
Sheriff George Ballard is proud to announce that nine teenagers from around the Gibson County Area attended the Indiana Sheriff's Associations Youth Leadership Camp in Brown County. This Leadership camp was open to students who had recently graduated the eighth grade and would be entering the ninth grade. Captains Tim Bottoms, Deborah Borchelt, Sergeant Bruce Vanoven and Deputy Roger Ballard served as counselors for the camp.
Students literally got to go hands on and experience what the life of a deputy sheriff is like. Through controlled participation activities students drove golf carts through a emergency vehicle operations course, shot simmunition rounds on a firing range, and responds to dramatic recreations of calls that are common to a Deputy Sheriff's job.
The camp was held at Waycross Camp in Brown County, and Sgt. Bruce Vanoven stated he was "counting the days down till next year!"
