Mayor Mike Vandersteen will be hosting the first meeting of the Mayor’s Neighborhood Leadership Cabinet (MNLC) on Tuesday, July 15th, 6:00 pm, at the Municipal Courtroom in the Sheboygan Police Department. All residents interested in participating in or forming a neighborhood association are welcome and encouraged to attend this meeting.  During this initial meeting of the MNLC neighbors will learn more about the operation and goals of the Cabinet, and hear from the Mayor as well as other City Departments.

 Sheboygan Neighborhood Pride (SNP) has pioneered the development of neighborhood associations in the City of Sheboygan.  The SNP board president will serve on the MNLC to continue the past partnership with the City of Sheboygan and keep MNLC apprised of neighborhood groups and their progress towards association status.

The Mayor’s Neighborhood Leadership Cabinet’s function is to strengthen and support neighborhood organizations throughout City.  The MNLC will accomplish this by connecting neighborhoods through informal meetings with neighborhood associations that are recognized by the Common Council, and by fostering association member’s leadership through education and communication.  Those who attend this meeting will gain a better understanding of City programs and initiatives that impact Sheboygan Neighborhoods, and will understand how the MNLC will work to improve neighborhoods and the quality of life in Sheboygan.
