On Saturday, July 12 and Sunday, July 13, Fremont Police K9s will be at Pet Food Express in Fremont (39010 Paseo Padre Pkwy) for a Cover Your K9 fundraiser. Pet Food Express and Cover Your K9 are partnering this weekend to raise funds to support law enforcement K9 programs. During the two day event, 100% of pet wash proceeds (i.e. purchase of bath tokens) from Pet Food Express will help directly support law enforcement K9 programs.
In an effort to protect K9s while they work to protect us, the proceeds will specifically be used to provide K9 handlers with emergency medical training and will be used to purchase critical safety gear for K9s. Some examples include:
- Bullet-proof vests
- Trauma kits
- Car heat alarms
- K-9 emergency training
- Medical care for retired K9s
Fremont Police K9's Harkos, Timo and Kalimero have all been recipients of custom bullet-proof vests made possible by Cover Your K9. Cover Your K9 has now purchased more than 200 custom made bullet-proof vests for law enforcement agencies and there is now a wait list. This effort has only been made possible due to the generous donations and support from our communities.
