On July 9, 2014 the Clayton County Police Department, assisted by the Riverdale Police Department and the Clayton County Sheriff's Office Cobra Unit, apprehended Steven Anthony Durden. Steven Dureden was wanted for Felony Violation of Probation (VGCSA) out of Clayton County at the time of Apprehension. Steven Durden was driving a vehicle that had been reported stolen. Additionally, Steven Durden led police on a brief chase that resulted in Mr Durden crashing the vehicle he was driving. Steven Durden fled from the vehicle on foot and was apprehended by the Clayton County Police Department shortly thereafter. Steven Durden was subsequently charged with Aggravated Assault, Armed Robbery, Theft by Receiving Motor Vehicle, Felony Obstruction of an Officer, Criminal Damage 2nd Degree, Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Crime and Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon. The apprehension of this subject was clearly the result of excellent coordination and cooperation of all agencies involved. The Clayton County Sheriff's Office would like to recognize and thank the Clayton County Police Department for a Job Well Done.
