Washington Road closed at Jernee Mill Road in Sayreville - Heavy traffic delays extend into South River 
Due to a downed tree and utility pole from last night's weather, Washington Road in Sayreville remains closed just past the Veteran's Memorial Bridge between Jernee Mill Road and Main Street. Heavy traffic is backing the length of the bridge and extending into South River because of the closure. Please avoid the area if possible. If you must travel through this area, expect extremely heavy delays and allow extra travel time.
