LBPD Conducted Motorcycle Enforcement Operations this Summer 
The Long Beach Police Department conducted two Modified Exhaust Operations in an effort to address quality of life issues.
Long Beach has 11 miles of coastline which motorcyclists especially enjoy riding along during the summer months. Unfortunately, noise complaints, particularly from vehicles with modified exhaust systems, increase with the influx of vehicles.
West and East Division Patrol officers conducted operations over the Memorial Day and 4th of July holiday weekends. The May operation resulted in 56 traffic citations, which included 31 for excessive noise or modified exhausts. The July operation resulted in 81 traffic citations, which included 37 for excessive noise by motorcycles.
