Harris County Deputy Charged Following Internal Investigation
HARRIS COUNTY, TX – Harris County Sheriff’s Deputy Christopher Ellis has been charged with two counts of felony possession of a controlled substance with the intent to deliver following an investigation conducted by the Office of the Inspector General’s Internal Affairs Division.
Ellis has been employed by the Harris County Sheriff’s Office since March 18, 2010, and was currently assigned to Patrol District 1. Effective immediately he has been placed on indefinite suspension pending the review of his employment status. Two bonds totaling $120,000.00 have been set.
The Harris County Sheriff’s Office Internal Affairs Division proactively investigates any suspected misconduct of employees. Decisive action is taken when investigators uncover evidence of crimes committed by personnel sworn to uphold the law and protect citizens.
