On 7/03/2014 just after 11:00 pm, the Steuben County Sheriff’s Office located and apprehended a wanted non-compliant registered sex offender. Sheriff’s deputies located 28 year old Danny Lee Rhudy in the 3900 block of north SR 127 in Steuben County’s Pleasant Township. Rhudy had been the subject of a Sheriff’s Office investigation regarding an alleged violation of Indiana’s Sex and Violent Offender Registry. Rhudy was taken into custody without incident and booked into the Steuben County Jail on one count of class D felony failure to register as a sex or violent offender. Rhudy subsequently posted a $5,000.00 surety bond and was released. Assisting the Sheriff’s Office were the Angola Police Department and the Indiana State Police.
