Advisory

Homicide suspect Terry Lee Shepard has been taken into custody.

The suspect wanted for a homicide in Green Bay has been arrested in Kenosha. Late last evening the Kenosha Police Department, working in conjunction with the Racine Police Department, received information on the location of Terry Lee Shepard. There was a warrant for First Degree Intentional Homicide for Mr. Shepard for the shooting death of Steven Sims that occurred at 1144 Stuart Street on April 15th. Mr. Shepard was taken into custody without incident.

Green Bay Detectives responded to Kenosha and interviewed Mr. Shepard. He is currently in jail and we will be coordinating with the other agencies his eventual transfer to Brown County to face charges of 1st Degree Intentional Homicide.

We have been working with many law enforcement agencies, particularly Kenosha PD, since the incident to locate and arrest Mr. Shepard. We extend our gratitude and appreciation to the Officers and Detectives of the Kenosha Police Department and the Racine Police Department, as well as all the other agencies who assisted. We are thankful that this arrest occurred without any further injuries to any citizen or officer.

We will not be able to make any additional comments on this until next Monday, July 7th. Please do not contact the Shift Commander or PIO’s as they won’t be able to make any other comments.
