DPS safety message regarding 4th of July

As the 4th of July holiday quickly approaches, we look forward to celebrating America’s independence with family and friends. The Department of Public Safety’s main focus is to ensure a safe and enjoyable holiday weekend. We would like to remind everyone that the possession, manufacture, storage, sale, handling, and use of fireworks, including those fireworks classified as Safe and Sane by the California State Fire Marshal, are prohibited in the City of Sunnyvale.

Fireworks are spectacular to watch, but can be extremely dangerous, especially in the hands of children. The Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety urges the public to avoid the use of consumer fireworks and instead, to enjoy displays of fireworks conducted by trained professionals. A list of Bay Area Fourth of July fireworks, parades and other events can be found here:

The Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety appreciates your support in making the Fourth of July safe and enjoyable of all.
